Services We Provide:
Preventative Dental Care
Our practice puts a large emphasis on total preventative care for all patients. Care involves regular dental hygiene checkups and teaching patients good home oral health routines. Some of our preventative services include sealants and fluoride treatments, which help protect your child’s teeth from cavities. Our goal is to keep your child’s teeth healthy and clean for life.
We also work with parents to educate them in recognizing some of the common dental issues children face. This includes bruxism (teeth grinding), baby bottle tooth decay, and thumb sucking. Together with our team, we will develop a dental plan that helps your child maintain great oral health and good dental development. We use advanced techniques and technologies to ensure your child receives the best and most up-to-date care during their scheduled dental exams.
Digital X-Rays
Digital radiography (X-rays) offer patients an environmentally friendly and safer option than traditional X-rays. The amount of radiation produced by a digital X-ray is lower than traditional radiographs. X-rays help the dentist look at the roots in the jaw and a patient’s teeth. X-rays are an important part of preventative dentistry, as they help your dentist see if there are any small cavities, diseases, or infections in a patient’s mouth. X-rays are a great tool for early prevention and are considered to be a standard component of a typical dental visit.
Nitrous Oxide
Nitrous Oxide is most commonly known as “laughing gas” and is used as in inhalation analgesic during dental procedures. A mixture of oxygen and the Nitrous Oxide is administered to the patient. It blocks some pain perception, and has a calming effect on the patient. This treatment option helps anxious or phobic patients during their dental treatments. This is a mild sedative, and patients remain conscious during their treatment. There are rarely side effects for this sedation option and the effects typically wear off when the Nitrous Oxide has been turned off.
Our office will provide you with pre- and post-appointment instructions to ensure this treatment option goes smoothly for your child.
General Anesthesia Dentistry
This type of dentistry refers to the use of a general anesthetic during dental treatments. For a young child who requires major dental treatment, has a low pain tolerance, strong gag reflexes, or physical handicaps, this may be a good option. If your child has a medical condition that rules out the use of other types of treatment, they may benefit from having all of their treatment done during a single session.
Dr. Erica will perform this procedure at the world renowned, Cincinnati Children’s hospital, who is ranked as one of the top hospitals in the country. Your pediatrician with complete a thorough physical exam and a complete medical history will be taken by your dentist, to protect your child’s well-being and health. Before the procedure, we will discuss the pre- and post-surgical issues and answer any questions you may have. We will make sure you are well-informed before you child enters the hospital, so that you know the risks and benefits of this type of procedure.
Cosmetic Dentistry
Cosmetic dentistry is any dental procedure that helps improve the appearance of a patient’s gums, teeth, or bite. There are many treatment options that fall under this category including veneers, teeth whitening treatment, crowns, bridges, dental implants, and tooth colored fillings. The use of cosmetic dentistry procedures varies on a patient’s age and the teeth affected. Each procedure is tailored to fit an individual’s needs.

Silver Diamine Fluoride
Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) is a liquid that can be used to halt the progression of cavities. This is especially helpful for young children who are not mature enough to handle routine restorative care. This liquid takes less than 1 minute to apply with no noise, no drilling, and at the same time, it kills the bacteria that cause decay. SDF is a non-invasive liquid medication that is proven to be very effective in arresting, or stopping, tooth decay. Unlike other treatment methods used to treat tooth decay such
as fillings, silver diamine fluoride is applied to the teeth with a brush. Silver diamine fluoride has been approved by the FDA for tooth sensitivity, but it is also very useful “off-label” for the treatment of tooth decay. Click Here to Learn More!
