To Our Valued Families: July, 2020
With so many news stories regarding the new coronavirus that causes COVID-19, we understand concerns your family may have. Please know that the precautions we take every day to prevent the spread of infection in our practice also helps prevent the spread of COVID-19. Our office follows all prevention recommendations for dental office infections control. We care about your safety and work hard to prevent the spread of infection. Before you enter our examination rooms, all surfaces, such as the dental chair, dental lights, drawer handles and countertops, have been cleaned and disinfected. We also cover some equipment with protective covers, which are replaced after each patient. Non-disposable items like dental tools are sterilized between patients. Disposable dental tools are never reused. Infection Control precautions also require us as a dental staff involved with direct patient care to wear appropriate protection, including masks, gloves, eyewear and medical apparel.
So what about the coronavirus? We want you to feel safe and comfortable when visiting our practice. We are taking additional measures to protect both our families and our employees. In order to take all universal precautions a step further, we are asking all family members at our office to wash their hands upon arrival. We are also wiping down all surfaces frequently during office hours. Please cover your sneeze and cough with your elbow. If you are ill with flu-like symptoms (fever, respiratory distress, achiness, wet cough), you should reschedule your appointment. If you or your family has been traveling for a vacation out of state, we ask that you wait 14 days before coming to a dental appointment. It’s important to know that the majority of people infected with the coronavirus experience flu-like symptoms and then recover. Most people do not develop serious respiratory complications.
We know many of you are still waiting on appointments. We are working through that!! In fact we are opening more appointment times starting this week! We know school is just around the corner! If you have a kindergartener that NEEDS to get in for an exam- shoot an email to info@childrensdentalcare.org.
If you are healthy, there is no need to cancel your regularly scheduled dental appointment!
Thank you for your support! We look forward to continuing to provide your family with the best dental care. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask any team member.
