Your Child’s First Visit to the Dentist

According to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, a child’s first dental visit should be scheduled by their first birthday or 6 months after their first tooth erupts, whichever happens first. Making this first visit as enjoyable and positive as possible is one of our many goals here at Children’s Dental Care. For many children, going to dentist can cause anxiety. Our staff and doctors work diligently to make sure children are as comfortable as possible during their visits. We want your child to feel good at the dentist no matter what dental procedures they are receiving.

Child Friendly

We’ve created an office atmosphere that is warm and inviting to children. Please see our slideshow below to see our tropical decorated office and themed exam rooms. Each exam room is equipped with a TV screen that is mounted on the ceiling allowing your child to watch their favorite movie and relax during their appointments.

Making Your Child Comfortable

Making sure your child’s first visit is comfortable and inviting encourages them to like going to the dentist. A good first visit builds trust between your child and their doctor. Let your child know that the doctors and staff are here to help them and will answer any questions they have. We always encourage children to discuss any anxiety or fears they have, as it helps us better treat them and put them at ease.

Environmentally Friendly

The products in in our office are environmentally friendly. Paints used in our office contain low volatile organic compounds which lower the gases released in the air. Our floors are made from recycled material reducing oil dependency. We also recycle at our office to reduce the amount.

How Do I Schedule?

You may reach us by phone or email to schedule your child’s dental appointment. During the visit, we will record and review your child’s medical and dental history. We will complete a comprehensive examination and discuss any findings with you. Our doctors and staff will review the importance of good oral health with you and your child. We want to ensure they have a beautiful, healthy smile for life! Upon scheduling your first appointment, we will send you a new patient forms via text/email to be completed before your first visit. If you are unable or wish to complete the forms in the office, we kindly ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time.
